About The Meliora School The Meliora School is a mastery-based, learner-centered public charter school serving grades 6–12 in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Built on the pillars of entrepreneurship and computer science, Meliora prepares learners for a rapidly changing world through rigorous academics, real-world learning, and the development of our Future9 competencies. As a founding team, we are building a school that is designed for and by the community, where educators are developed as reflective practitioners and instructional leaders.
Role Overview The Relay Resident Learning Guide is a full-time, mentored teaching role designed for emerging educators enrolled in Relay Graduate School of Education’s residency or certification pathway. Residents work closely with experienced Learning Guides and school leaders while developing strong instructional practice in a mastery-based environment.
Key Responsibilities Instruction and Learning Support Co-teach and support mastery-based, standards-aligned learning experiences Facilitate small-group instruction, workshops, and targeted interventions Support project-based learning and performance tasks Assist with assessment, feedback, and tracking learner progress Integrate technology and learning tools under the guidance of a mentor Residency and Coaching Participate fully in Relay coursework, coaching, and professional learning Implement instructional strategies aligned to Relay and Meliora frameworks Demonstrate growth toward independent instructional leadership Advising and Learner Support Support advisory structures and learner goal-setting Build strong, supportive relationships with learners Assist in maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment Collaborate with student support teams as needed School Design and Community Participate in founding-year school design and culture-building Support exhibitions of learning, community events, and family engagement Model Meliora values and Future9 competencies Professional Growth and Collaboration Collaborate closely with mentor guides and school leadership Reflect on practice and actively seek feedback Contribute positively to team culture and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Required Bachelor’s degree Acceptance into or current enrollment in Relay Graduate School of Education Eligibility for Georgia teaching certification through Relay Commitment to learner-centered, equitable education Willingness to engage in coaching, feedback, and reflection Preferred Experience working with children or adolescents Interest in mastery-based, project-based, or innovative school models Strong communication and collaboration skills Growth mindset and openness to learning
