Peer Tutors provide academic support and assistance to fellow students within a specific subject area or multiple subjects. Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions with students seeking assistance in designated subject area(s).
- Clarify course concepts, review homework assignments, and help students prepare for exams.
- Adapt tutoring techniques to accommodate individual student needs.
- Provide clear explanations and examples to aid student understanding of complex topics.
- Offer guidance on note-taking, reading comprehension, and exam preparation methods.
- Direct students to additional resources, such as online tutorials or academic support services, to supplement their learning.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, including student attendance, topics covered, and progress made.
- Required qualifications
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student
- Proficiency in the subject(s) you wish to tutor, with an A or B+ in the courses
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Reliability and punctuality in fulfilling tutoring commitments
