- Status: Full-Time, 9-Month Tenure-Track Faculty Appointment Position Overview The School of Health Sciences at Emory & Henry University invites applications for a dynamic and collaborative educator to join our Exercise Science department at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This is a 9-month, full-time tenure-track position with the potential for additional summer teaching opportunities. The successful candidate will join a thriving department, supporting two senior faculty members in delivering a high-quality undergraduate curriculum. We are seeking an individual dedicated to excellence in teaching, student mentorship, and the advancement of the School of Health Sciences’ mission through service-learning and inter-professional collaboration. Primary Responsibilities The Exercise Science faculty member will support two senior faculty members within the department and will teach courses based on content area expertise. Teaching opportunities may include Introduction to Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Testing and Prescription for Special Populations, Program Design, Advanced Strength and Conditioning, and/or Research, depending on training and expertise. The program offers tracks in Clinical Health Professions and Fitness & Wellness with opportunities to assist with instruction at the graduate healthcare campus. Emory & Henry University prioritizes excellence in teaching with opportunities for meaningful service-learning and/or research. The successful candidate will assist with academic and career advising, engage with on-campus student events, and contribute to a collaborative and inter-professional culture in support of the School of Health Sciences mission. Faculty rank and salary is commensurate with academic qualifications and work experience. Facilities and Resources The Exercise Science department is housed on the residential undergraduate campus in Emory, VA. and the majority of responsibilities for this position are on the Emory campus. The unit is housed within the School of Health Sciences, which includes professional programs in nursing, clinical mental health counseling, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and physician assistant studies. The Exercise Science program has access to multiple classrooms and clinical skills labs, a technology enhanced gross-anatomy cadaver lab, an applied physiology lab, and a clinical simulation lab with both high fidelity manikins and standardized patient exam rooms. Emory & Henry University engages multiple community outreach programs which provide service, volunteer, shadowing, and research opportunities for students.

- Education: Doctorate (PhD, EdD, or DSc) in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field preferred; ABD or Master’s with significant clinical/professional experience considered for Assistant rank.
