• Teacher's Assistant (Temporary) RFK Community Alliance has an exciting opportunity for a Teacher's Assistant (Temporary) to join our team in Springfield, MA.

• Kennedy Academy is a therapeutic day school that provides educational and clinical services to students with diverse abilities and disabilities, including those in the emotional, behavioral, and learning realms.
• The school’s curriculum and support services assist students in reaching milestones such as graduation, the transition to post-secondary educational and vocational opportunities, or the return to public school.
• A small school by design, RFK Academy creates individualized learning opportunities and accommodation while establishing a community of learners among students for whom connections to school have often been challenging.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments, and/or materials under the supervision of the supervising teacher to support and reinforce classroom objectives and meet IEP goals.
• Communicate with supervising instructional staff, various health care professionals and professional support personnel to communicate progress or implement IEP objectives.
• Supervises students on off-campus trips for internships, volunteer opportunities, and field trips.
• Supports students in following the daily schedules and provides guidance for that student for the entire school day.

Specific qualifications

• High School Diploma is required. B.A. preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age.
