Responsibilities

Maintain an inviting, safe, orderly environment, and provide consistent clear communication with program staff, school administration, and parents Provide day-to-day supervision of Group Leaders and support staff Studies the skills and abilities of the players on the team and places each player in the most suitable position. Recognizes and uses each players specific talents to devise plays and playing strategies for games. Devises drills and practice exercises that will adequately prepare players for each game. Assist Campos Plaza Director in parent outreach via phone call, email, and personal meetings daily when children are not in attendance Responsible for maintenance and closure of facilities and ensuring assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use. Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. Implement systems or processes to increase facility and program operation efficiency Collaborates with co-coach to help build the skill level of the team. Overseeing day-to-day operations of the Saturday Night Lights Program. Attend event committee meetings, weekly team meetings, and other meetings as assigned Perform other duties assigned by supervisor(s) Qualifications: A High School diploma or GED is required. One or more years experience working in a coaching capacity in an after-school, day camp, or community youth outreach setting is preferred Understanding of game fundamentals for the sport of basketball and/or volleyball is required. Experience in responding to critical incidents and emergency situations with swift and mindful action is required Ability to effectively handle stressful situations, communicate effectively, and demonstrate sensitivity to others is required Must have exceptional leadership skills and the ability to motivate players to reach their potential.
