The special education nurse provides direct health services, emergency care, and health counseling to medically fragile students and those in special education. They also act as a liaison between school staff, parents, and healthcare providers while maintaining student health records and training staff on medical procedures.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree and a current georgia rn license, along with valid cpr and first aid certifications. A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years with the pediatric population, is required.
