Job description

  • The Assistant Coach of Basketball is responsible for their designated aspect of coaching, assist in recruiting and willing to assist in any role needed.
  • The candidate needs to be a relentless supporter of Lorain County Community College and its athletics department.
  • Collegiate coaching and recruiting experience are preferred but not required for this position.
  • The program will be conducted in compliance with policies, procedures and regulations of the College, the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
  • Candidates must maintain a current CPR and AED certification.

This is a part-time, 12-month position, reporting directly to the Head Basketball Coach and Athletic Director.

  • Assisting in fund-raising to support the program’s operational budget.

Requirements

  • Three years of basketball coaching experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Solid administrative skills with the ability to communicate and motivate student-athletes to achieve goals.
  • Willingness to interact comfortably with individuals and constituency groups that are crucial to the advancement of the baseball program along with the department and institution.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
  • Education: Associate degree or better required/Bachelor’s degree or better preferred.
