The teaching assistant will support the lead teacher in a French immersion classroom by assisting with instruction, student supervision, and the preparation of learning materials. They are responsible for modeling French language use and fostering an inclusive, respectful environment for students in grades K-5.

As a French Immersion Teaching Assistant, you will support the lead French classroom teacher in fostering a safe, engaging, and linguistically rich learning environment. You will assist with classroom instruction, student supervision, preparation of materials, and individualized student support, all while modeling French language use.
Support instruction in a French Immersion classroom (K–5) under the direction of the lead teacher. Model and encourage the use of spoken and written French throughout the school day. Assist with small group or one-on-one instruction in both academic and enrichment settings. Help prepare classroom materials and organize learning activities. Supervise students during classroom transitions, lunch, recess, and school events. Foster a warm, respectful, and inclusive classroom climate that supports all learners. Reinforce behavioral expectations and school norms positively and consistently. Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet individual student needs. Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families (in French or English as appropriate). Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development sessions.

Required: Bachelor’s Degree Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English. Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting. Authorization to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship at this time. First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
B.A. or higher in education, child development, or a related field. Prior experience in a bilingual, immersion, or international school setting. Understanding of child development and/or early literacy and numeracy.
