Audit inpatient and outpatient medical records for coding accuracy and provide educational feedback to the Coding and CDI teams. Research and develop educational tutorials to obtain AHIMA/ACDIS continuing education units.
Requires a Registered Nurse (RN) license for CDI focus or specific coding certifications (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CCDS, or COC). Candidates must have at least 3 years of acute hospital-based coding or CDI experience.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required Experience 3 years acute hospital-based Coding or CDI experience, relative to the primary work area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered and Licenses and Certifications (RN) REGISTERED NURSE required if primary work area is CDI (RHIA) REGD HEALTH INFO ADMINIST or (RHIT) REGD HEALTH INFO TECHNOLO or (CCS) CERT CODING SPECIALIST or (CPC) CERT PROFESSIONAL CODER AAPC credential - Certified Professional Coder (CPC) (Prior to 2014) or (CCDS) Cert Clinical Documentation or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) (excludes AAPC Apprentice) Preferred Education Associate's Degree in Health Information Management and/or closely related field. or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management and/or closely related field. Experience Experience working in a remote environment. Licenses and Certifications AHIMA-Approved I10 Trainer Certification.
