Extended Content Standards (ECS) Instructional Assistant (Special Education), Track 4

The instructional assistant supports special education students by implementing ieps, behavioral intervention plans, and instructional activities. They also provide direct assistance with student transitions, personal care, and the use of assistive technology in a classroom setting.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or ged and be working toward an associate's degree or cda credential, or meet essa requirements with relevant coursework or experience. A crisis prevention and intervention (Cpi) certification is required, and experience working with individuals with special needs is essential.
