Swim Instructor

The swim instructor provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes while building authentic relationships with participants. They are responsible for maintaining safety, enforcing pool rules, and managing class records in accordance with ymca guidelines.

Candidates must be at least 16 years old and possess a current ymca swim instructor certificate or equivalent. Proficiency in cpr for the professional rescuer is required, along with the physical ability to observe stroke techniques and respond to emergency situations.
