Job Title: Youth Sports Instructor

Position summary

Under the direction of the Youth Program Director the Youth Sports Instructor will help teach all levels of sports and character development in a positive atmosphere that will allow the participants to learn and grow.

Essential functions

1. Teach sports skills to kids at a beginner level

2. Attend all staff meetings and training sessions

3. Act as a role model for YMCA Core Values

4. Help create a climate that fosters YMCA goals and a fun, engaging atmosphere for all participants

5. Proper care and storage of sports equipment

6. Supervision of participants at all points of the day

7. Generate new ideas to implement into the schedule

8. Supervise and help train volunteers

9. All duties as assigned.

Qualifications: · The candidate must have working knowledge of various sports

· Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Current Community CPR, First Aid, & AED required within 30 days of hire.

Physical requirement

· Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.

· Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 30 pounds in weight.

· Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
