The FNP/PA will provide initial care in triage, urgent care, and acute care settings within an academic Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department. They will work collaboratively with physicians and nursing staff to evaluate, treat, and determine the disposition of patients.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree for NPs or an ARC-PA approved program completion for PAs, along with active New York State licensure and national certification. Prior advanced practice experience is required, and new graduates will not be considered.
FNP/PA FT position available, rotating D/E/N, 8, 10 & 12 hour shifts, Weekends & Holidays as needed Position available for FNP/PA to work in SMH Adult ED and Observation Unit. NP/PAs provide initial care in triage, urgent care and acute care for patients in an academic Level 1 Trauma ED with over 100,000 patients' visits per year. FNP/PAs work collaboratively with Emergency Medicine physician and nursing staff. Patients require evaluation, intervention, and disposition. Excellent communication and teamwork required. Prior advanced practice experience and current national certification for NPs and PAs required. New graduates will not be considered. Nurse Practitioner Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner. Physician Assistant Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
