Job description
Urban School of San Francisco seeks enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Basketball Camp Counselors for the upcoming summer program. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of young athletes while fostering a positive and supportive camp environment.
Job Title: Junior Basketball Camp Counselor
Classification: Temporary, Nonexempt
Reports To: Athletic Director
Camp Dates
Session: 1: Aug 3-7, 2026
Session: 2: Aug 10-14, 2026
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coaching at daily camps scheduled from 8:30 am — 4 pm
- Must be able to follow program curriculum guidelines for teaching fundamentals
- Regular attendance is required based on business expectations and needs
- Adheres to all federal, state, local and San Francisco laws regarding health, safety and employment
Qualifications
- and Minimum Experience Required:
- Must have knowledge of the sport of basketball and have a strong ability to work with people.
- Knowledge and certification in First Aid and CPR preferred.
- Skills Required:
- Must have an excellent ability/or potential ability to teach basketball skills to individuals and teams
- Must have a great enthusiasm for the game and for working with young players
- Must possess clear, concise written and oral communication skills
- Must possess personable disposition and ability to work with full membership compliment.

- Working Environment and Physical Requirements
- Climate controlled gym.
- Lifting at least 10 pounds
- Pushing/pulling 10 pounds of weight
- Walking gym floor daily'
- Working on your feet for 3-6 hours straight
Salary
The anticipated hourly wage the School reasonably expects to pay candidates for the position of Junior Basketball Camp Counselor in San Francisco is $19.61.
