Job Description
Primary Responsibilities: Serve as a tutor to families with deaf children.Work with families teaching different strategies on how to read aloud books to their deaf child, using the 15 principles in shared reading.Potential tutors must be able to observe parents reading to their child and then give feedback to families related to different reading strategies.Maintain activity logs and time sheets. Training will be provided on the 15 principles of reading to deaf children.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required Must have experience working with adults and children in a variety of settings. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must be able to provide own transportation. Fluency in American Sign Language required. Current fee for the investigation can range from $35.50 - $135 depending on the state.
