Job Description

Primary Responsibilities: ASL Instructors teach various levels in ASL using a given curriculum and demonstrate ASL strategies in the classroom.Other tasks include maintaining logistics, conducting assessments for promotion, and creating a positive learning environment. Must be able to screen out participants and place them in the appropriate class level.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED plus two years of post-secondary education in elementary education, deaf education, ASL teaching, or other related fields. Demonstrate knowledge of ASL curriculum, teaching strategies, and techniques. Demonstrate ability to analyze and assess sign proficiency of participants. Fluency in American Sign Language required.

One year of experience related to teaching ASL in the classroom.
