The coach is responsible for planning and leading practice sessions, providing on-deck and in-water instruction, and conducting dry land training. Additionally, they provide administrative support for team activities and attend assigned swim meets.
$12.20/hour SPDY swimmers range in age from 5 – 18 years. This position is responsible for all aspects of coaching, including planning practice sessions, on-deck coaching, in-water stroke demonstration, and dry land training as needed. This position also provides administrative and operational support to the swim team program by assisting at team meetings, activities and assigned swim meets.
Typical schedule is
Monday-Friday, with shifts starting at 4:15 p.m. Ideal candidates will be at least 15 years old, able to work 2+ days per week, and approximately 4 weekends per season for swim meets.
Strong aquatic background with coaching or teaching experience preferred. Excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively interact with swimmers, parents, and staff members. Passion for swimming and a desire to instill a love for the sport in young athletes. Knowledge of the 4 basic stroke techniques. Strong leadership abilities and the capability to motivate and inspire athletes.
CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
