  • Current Xavier University employees must apply to the internal career site by logging into Workday Adjunct Faculty, School of Education ‌ Xavier University is seeking qualified candidates to join our pool of potential adjunct faculty to serve as supervisors of teacher candidates for the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • This posting is intended to collect applications for part-time, non-tenure-track position for an Adjunct Instructor in the School of Education.
  • Candidates must be dedicated to graduate or undergraduate teaching and demonstrate excellence in their field.
  • The successful candidate will contribute to our commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement.

  • Adjunct faculty contracts are issued on a semester-by-semester basis, depending on departmental needs and student enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications

· Master’s degree in Education or a related field, minimum 5 years K-12 teaching experience, and extensive related experience (e.g., published, leadership, etc.) in the education field or terminal degree in a related field and 5 years K12 teaching experience. · Currently hold and maintain a valid professional educator license. · Flexible availability during the school day is necessary. · University supervisors will need to be proficient with technology such as email, inputting observation notes, fillable PDFs, and other basic computer skills. · University supervisors will serve as a liaison between Xavier University and the field placement, so effective and direct communication skills are necessary. Duties include: · University supervisors will be required to travel to school sites each semester as designated by the Field Coordinator. · Supervisors are expected to observe teacher candidates throughout the semester and provide feedback regarding teacher candidate performance in the areas of dispositions and pedagogy. · Successful supervisors will be able to connect with undergraduate and graduate students to create positive mentorships. · Supervisors will guide, engage and support teacher candidates throughout their development as novice teachers. · Clear and consistent communication with both the teacher candidate and cooperating teacher is required. · Being the first point of contact for both teacher candidate and cooperating, and troubleshooting issues that might arise · Student Teaching Supervision – requires 4-6 site visits · Methods/Clinicals Supervision – requires 1-2 site visits For additional information, please contact Dr. Jody Googins, Co-Director of the School of Education, googinsj@xavier.edu, 513-745-2821.
