Child Life Specialist Emergency Department

Facilitates age-Appropriate interactions and therapeutic play to reduce distress and support pediatric patients and their families in the emergency department. Provides clinical documentation, supervises students and volunteers, and collaborates with the healthcare team to promote patient independence.

Requires a bachelor's degree and a successfully completed 600-Hour internship supervised by a child life specialist. Child life certification from the association of child life professionals (Aclp) is required within 15 months of hire.
