Overview Counselor II - CBHI Therapeutic Mentor Pay
- $25.24/hour; additional $2,000 annually for bilingual fluency in eligible languages Are you passionate about mentoring youth and helping them build real-life skills for success? YOU Inc. is seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Mentor (Counselor II) to provide one-on-one, community-based support to youth enrolled in the Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) program. In this role, you’ll work directly with young people to strengthen social skills, emotional regulation, and daily living abilities, helping them succeed at home, in school, and in their communities.

Responsibilities
Direct Youth Mentoring Provide one-on-one support to youth in home and community settings. Help youth build skills in communication, emotional regulation, and daily living. Serve as a positive role model, fostering trust and engagement. Skill Building & Community Integration Support youth in real-world settings such as parks, libraries, and recreational activities. Reinforce treatment goals through hands-on, practical experiences. Develop and implement structured, age-appropriate lesson plans with measurable outcomes. Collaboration & Family Engagement Work closely with a master’s level clinician to align mentoring with treatment goals. Participate in weekly consultations and provide progress updates. Communicate regularly with families and caregivers to support consistency and success. Documentation & Professional Development Complete timely and accurate progress notes and service documentation. Participate in trainings, supervision, and team meetings. Maintain compliance with CBHI and agency standards. What You Bring Passion for working with youth and families Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Creativity in teaching and reinforcing life skills in real-world settings Organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old One of the following: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field + 1 year experience, OR Associate’s degree + 2 years experience, OR High school diploma/GED + 2+ years experience working with youth Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance required
