Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job: Education and Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree in exercise or related field for specialty classes (i.e. meditation) preferred Certification in one or more of the fitness accrediting bodies (ACE, AFAA, or ACSM) required Specific class certification (Yoga, Zumba, Les Mills, Warm Water Arthritis) required BCLS certification required Work Experience: 2 years of instruction of the specific designated class preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Basic knowledge and ability to instruct classes Strong communication and marketing skills Exhibit concern for participant satisfaction Flexibility with schedule Knowledgeable of the psychosocial and physiological development and spiritual needs of infants, children, adolescents, and all adult age groups (per Erickson’s Model) to provide appropriate care and intervention, either personally or through staff Physical Requirements: Works mostly inside Light cleaning and facility preparation which will include movement of equipment Moderate physical exertion involved with participation in classes Travel is sometimes required Good verbal skills and manual dexterity May be subjected to occupational exposure Required Licenses and Certifications BLS - American Heart Association Cape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity For exceptional healthcare come to Cape Fear Valley Health where caring employees are committed to integrity, patient-centeredness and excellence throughout the entire healthcare process.
