Description

Kingsley is looking for culturally aware applicants for a progressive Montessori program that honors educational best practices. As an Assistant Teacher for ages 3 through 6, the successful candidate will share responsibility for supporting the Lead Teacher in all aspects of students’ classroom experience. The Assistant Teacher provides daily support in the areas of student needs, preparing the classroom environment, and classroom routines. All Assistant Teachers attend regular meetings. The Assistant Teacher reports to the Director of Early Childhood Education. INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Prioritize the safety and well-being of all students A strong understanding of the developmental needs of 3-6 year-olds Support academic and behavioral routines as assigned Maintain communication with peers and families and exhibit a receptive and collegial demeanor Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to support curriculum and community Perform arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, monitoring, and other support duties as needed Participate in and support special events/activities Participate in professional development initiatives

Skills & competencies

BA/BS required. Montessori experience a plus! Minimum of one year teaching experience Experience with a variety of instructional methods and multi-age learning environments
