Our Personal Trainers instruct and motivate individuals and small groups in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement. Under the direction of the Regional Director of Wellness

  • Trainer's primary responsibilities include: developing workout plans for various fitness levels and populations working one-on-one with clients, small group personal training (2-4), and encouraging growth and development of boot camps Providing assessments to ensure quality and progressions towards client goals Essential Functions Effectively recruits new clients and promotes current programs. Provides individuals with exercise testing, prescriptions and instructions. Creates a welcoming and enthusiastic environment in the wellness center for all fitness levels and encourages and motivates members. Maintains working knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective information and support to members. Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. Confirms and redeems personal training sessions. Attends required training sessions, workshops and staff meetings. Participates in master classes, fundraising and other special events, as required. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Qualifications2+ years of education in Exercise Science preferred; or equivalent combination of training and experience Current CPR, First Aid and Oxygen (ASHI); or willing to obtain within first 30 days Training experience and expertise; Injuries, Weight Loss, Sports Conditioning Willingness to work with all ages.
