The health specialist promotes and maintains the health of children in the head start program by managing health records, tracking medical needs, and performing screenings. They also collaborate with nurses and families to ensure compliance with health regulations and provide necessary health education.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or ged and at least one year of experience in children's health care. Additionally, the role requires a valid driver's license, the ability to obtain first aid/Cpr certification, and successful completion of a background screening.
