The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and targeted support to students receiving special education services. This role involves creating inclusive learning experiences, adapting curriculum, and using evidence-based strategies to support student progress. You will play a key role in ensuring students can access the general education curriculum while working toward their individualized goals.
- In this role, you will deliver specialized instruction across small-group, one-on-one, and inclusive classroom settings to support diverse learners.
- You will develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), while adapting lesson plans and instructional materials to meet varying student needs.
- The position also involves tracking student progress through data-driven methods and maintaining accurate documentation.
- You will collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff, while supporting positive behavior strategies and social-emotional growth.
- Additionally, you will participate in IEP meetings and maintain ongoing communication with families to ensure consistent student support.
Requirements
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related discipline and hold a valid Oregon teaching license with a Special Education endorsement, or be eligible to secure licensure. Previous school-based experience is preferred. Strong skills in classroom management, organization, and collaboration are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive student outcomes.
