We emphasize building strong relationships to help students develop confidence, independence, and achieve lasting academic success.
Position Overview
We’re continually hiring warm, reliable in-person tutors to work 1
1 with children ages 3–11 in West Los Angeles. Sessions vary by family needs (after school, weekends, occasional daytime), so this role is ideal for educators who want flexible scheduling and meaningful work.
We’re especially interested in candidates with experience supporting neurodivergent learners (special education, ABA, OT-informed strategies, behavior support, executive functioning, etc.), though this experience isn’t required.
Future Candidates will be considered for our 1
1 Summer Camp.
What You’ll Do
Provide 1: 1 tutoring for early learners in areas like:
Pre-literacy and reading foundations (phonemic awareness, decoding, comprehension) Early math skills and number sense Handwriting/fine-motor support when needed Study habits and early executive functioning (routine, attention, transitions) Social Communication & Academic Enrichment Executive Function & Interest-Based Learning
Use positive reinforcement, structure, and developmentally appropriate, engaging activities
Adapt instruction to the child’s learning profile (including IEP/504 goals when applicable)
Support social-emotional growth alongside academics (confidence, frustration tolerance, flexibility)
Maintain brief session notes and progress updates
Communicate professionally with parents/guardians and the Franklin team
We Are Looking for Tutors Who Are...
Warm, patient, energetic, and excellent at building rapport with young children Comfortable providing structure (clear expectations, routines, visual supports, etc.) Dependable and organized with strong communication skills Able to travel locally for in-home sessions in the South Bay
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree (or currently completing a degree with relevant experience) Reliable transportation for in-person sessions (South Bay placements) Preferred (Plus)
Special education experience (classroom, paraeducator, RSP, Ed Specialist, etc.) Experience with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, anxiety, or behavior support Credentials/certifications (CA credential, RBT, BCaBA/BCBA, reading intervention training, OG-based training, etc.) Schedule & Commitment
