Job description

Description Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. This role includes planning and implementing engaging activities, maintaining supervision at all times, and supporting the physical, emotional, spiritual and social development of each child.

Key Responsibilities Provide active supervision of children at all times to ensure safety and well-being Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily activities Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and development Maintain compliance with all licensing regulations and center policies Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and other basic care routines Prepare and serve meals and bottles according to established procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment Observe and document children’s development and communicate progress with families Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow all health and safety procedures

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred) Previous childcare experience preferred Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices Ability to meet state licensing requirements (background check, health screening, etc.) CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Skills and Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to supervise and engage children in a safe and meaningful way Working Conditions Ability to lift, carry, and move children as needed Frequent standing, walking, bending, and sitting on the floor Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
