The intern physician participates in an organized postgraduate educational program involving daily patient contact and increasing responsibility for patient care. They apply principles of preventive medicine, diagnosis, and therapy under the supervision of attending staff.

Candidates must be graduates of an approved medical school and have passed level 1 and 2 of the nbome or usmle. Additionally, they must hold current bls and acls certifications and register with the florida board of medicine.
