Job description

  • Saint Mary Magdalene School School Nurse Part-Time Catholic Preferred but Not Required Saint Mary Magdalene School, a vibrant and culturally diverse prek-K through 8 school, located at 2940 Parkside Road in Columbus, is hiring a part-time School Nurse or School Health Aide for the 2026-2027 school year. This person will develop and maintain health services for all students attending Saint Mary Magdalene School. Essential Job Functions and Expectations:
  • Participates in training programs as assigned
  • Administers first aid as needed and contacts parents of absent, ill or injured students
  • Records clinic visits in appropriate log
  • Provides clinic coverage
  • Maintains immunization records and emergency medical authorization forms
  • Maintains a list of students with health problems
  • Prepares paperwork related to screenings
  • Maintains student files and records
  • Inventories clinic materials and supplies and secures appropriate equipment as needed during the day
  • Keeps clinic clean and maintains adequate supplies
  • Checks for lice when needed
  • Attends health staff meetings when requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • School Nurse: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and hold a valid license with the Ohio Board of Nursing
  • Health Aide: High School Diploma or equivalent and have successfully completed either the Para Pro examination, an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution, or a minimum of 48 semester hours (72 quarter hours) from an accredited institution
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to work with people in a positive and confidential manner
  • Demonstrated ability to operate computer
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Demonstrated appropriate communication skills
  • Willingness to complete first aid and CPR training
