Job description
- Saint Mary Magdalene School School Nurse Part-Time Catholic Preferred but Not Required Saint Mary Magdalene School, a vibrant and culturally diverse prek-K through 8 school, located at 2940 Parkside Road in Columbus, is hiring a part-time School Nurse or School Health Aide for the 2026-2027 school year. This person will develop and maintain health services for all students attending Saint Mary Magdalene School. Essential Job Functions and Expectations:
- Participates in training programs as assigned
- Administers first aid as needed and contacts parents of absent, ill or injured students
- Records clinic visits in appropriate log
- Provides clinic coverage
- Maintains immunization records and emergency medical authorization forms
- Maintains a list of students with health problems
- Prepares paperwork related to screenings
- Maintains student files and records
- Inventories clinic materials and supplies and secures appropriate equipment as needed during the day
- Keeps clinic clean and maintains adequate supplies
- Checks for lice when needed
- Attends health staff meetings when requested
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- School Nurse: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and hold a valid license with the Ohio Board of Nursing
- Health Aide: High School Diploma or equivalent and have successfully completed either the Para Pro examination, an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution, or a minimum of 48 semester hours (72 quarter hours) from an accredited institution
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work with people in a positive and confidential manner
- Demonstrated ability to operate computer
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Demonstrated appropriate communication skills
- Willingness to complete first aid and CPR training
