Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Training & Education Coordinator supports the development, delivery, and evaluation of all employee training programs at River Vista. This role ensures staff have the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to provide high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care. The coordinator manages training logistics, maintains accurate education records, assists with onboarding, and helps ensure the organization meets regulatory and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of direct experience preferred in a psychiatric or mental health setting, with direct experience in staff education, education concepts, practices, and procedures.

Certification

  • CPR & CPI Instructor certification.
  • Phlebotomy license required

  • Requirements: Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, restraint, and seclusion, and ability to prepare and present training events as directed for Nursing Services. Knowledge of phlebotomy and EKG processes. May be required to work occasional weekends and/or other hours; conduct weekend training as needed. Strong organizational skills

Qualifications

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Staff Education

  • Responsible in teaching Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR (American Heart Association) classes. Responsible for teaching Verbal De-Escalation Coordinate, schedule, and organize employee training sessions, workshops, and continuing education programs. Support training plans, competency assessments, and department-specific education. Assist with onboarding and orientation for new hires. Works closely with the CNO, ACNO, Nursing Educator, and HR Director to review current education and training needs. Ensure education files comply with UHS, State, Federal, and accreditation requirements. Recommends improvements to training programs as needed or as identified. Coordinate, schedule, and organize employee training sessions, and 90day refresher course. Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate training records Coordinate with HR in ensuring education files comply with UHS, state, federal, and accreditation requirements. Prepare reports on training completion rates and compliance audits. Content & Curriculum Support Assist in creating and updating training materials and digital resources. Partner with subject matter experts to develop learning content. Coordinate certifications (CPI & CPR) tracking. Event & Logistics Coordination Manage classroom scheduling and virtual training 2. Coordinate presenters, presentations, and professional development events Support education fairs, safety weeks, and staff development initiatives. Communication & Support Serve as a resource for training requirements and Health Stream/LMS navigation. Communicate training announcements and compliance updates. Provide administrative support during trainings. Additional Standards Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures. Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled. Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality. Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives. Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.
