Job description

  • We are seeking a dedicated General Teacher to join our nationally accredited early childhood program in Columbus, Ohio.
  • This role supports a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.
  • The ideal candidate is patient, collaborative, and committed to fostering each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
  • Key Responsibilities Plan and implement daily lesson plans and activities that are age-appropriate and aligned with the program curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that respects diversity and supports each child’s individual needs.
  • Observe, document, and assess children’s progress; share observations and developmental updates with families and team members.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom in compliance with licensing and organizational policies.
  • Support routines including arrival, meals, toileting/diapering, rest time, and transitions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administrators to support children’s learning and well-being.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with families, providing resources and guidance as appropriate.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program improvement activities.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.

Experience

Previous experience working with young children in a classroom, childcare, or related setting preferred.

Skills

Strong classroom management and effective, compassionate communication skills. Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and adapt instruction to diverse learners. Team-oriented approach and willingness to learn from colleagues and supervisors.

Certifications

Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Must meet state and local licensing requirements. Ability to pass background screening and any required health checks. Schedule & Work Environment This position may be full-time or part-time with a schedule that supports program operations. Must be comfortable working directly with children and supporting hands-on classroom activities.
