Job description

Description Fr Augustine Tolton Regional Catholic High School in Columbia, MO is hiring an Assistant Coach. This position is for the 2026-2027 school year. A successful candidate is either a practicing Catholic in good standing, or one who will support and uphold the Catholic mission of Fr Augustine Tolton Regional Catholic High School and the Diocese of Jefferson City.

Responsibilities

Program Management: Work with the Athletic Director to establish high level goals and strategic plan for the program. Provide age / skill appropriate instruction. Work with the Athletic Director to create competition and practice schedules. Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities Keep informed of and ensure compliance with all school and MSHSAA policies Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation. Protect the reputation of the School and Athletic Department by ensuring proper sportsmanship is demonstrated by players and assistant coaches at all times. Accompany and supervise student athletes during athletic competitions and practices Apply and enforce student discipline during contests, practices, and while on trips off school property in accordance with school and MSHSAA policies Help develop each student-athlete in spirit, heart, mind, and body.

General

Establish and maintain open communication with athletic department, parents, students, and necessary school administration. Demonstrate support for the mission of Fr. Tolton Catholic High School by attitude, words, and actions. Assist in maintaining discipline by enforcing the expectations in the Student Handbook Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Athletic Director

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) Previous coaching experience (preferred) General knowledge of coaching and expertise in specific sport / Activity. Ability to instruct and supervise students and student athletes Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations
