Summary of Position

Seeking Gymnastics Instructor to teach, coach, and supervise gymnastics and tumbling skills to participants of various ages and skill levels in a safe environment. Assist Gymnastics Coordinator in instruction plans, spot students on apparatus, evaluate progress, and foster a positive atmosphere, emphasizing safety, technical progression and community engagement. Private lesson instruction may be possible.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and courteous customer service through assistance in the gymnastics arena and subsequent areas
  • Occasional travel to meets and competitions as needed
  • Works cooperatively with both the Gymnastics Coordinator and the Health & Wellness Center Manager
  • He/she orients visitors and members to the proper and appropriate use of all gymnastics equipment
  • He/she promotes the safety of clients under his/her supervision with special emphasis on minimizing risk of injury
  • Using procedural guides, informative telephonic communication, completing paperwork, data entry, cleaning equipment, and laundering various effects
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Gymnastics safety certification
  • Experience
  • Experience with teaching team-oriented, competitive gymnastics
  • Required Skills
  • Ability to work with the public in a team-oriented, competitive gymnastics, physical fitness environment, preferred
  • Physical aspects: dynamic balancing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching, standing and stooping, and pulling
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and more than 50 lbs. on occasion
  • Must be able to work closely with others, possess a positive attitude and be able to complete assigned tasks
