  • District: Assistant Teacher (Part-Time) Park Center Preschool JOB SUMMARY In the role as Assistant Teacher, you will be assigned to help in one class daily, may assist in others as needed. Could lead to other subbing hours as well as teaching classes in the Early Childhood programming area. Will be responsible for supervising children in a safe and educational environment, following direction of Lead Teacher, working cohesively with team, being attentive to lesson plans and performing food distribution. We are looking for a team player who has a love for young children along with energetic personality, enthusiasm and willingness to grow with the program. Must also express maturity in thought, work habits and responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum is 19 years of age with a High School Diploma Preference is given to applicants with preschool experience in a classroom setting, and prefer lead qualified Must provide 3 written character references Professional certification(s) and/or active membership in a professional association desirable. Food Sanitation Certification and CPR, First Aid and Child Heimlich Maneuver certification must be obtained upon hire (training provided) Must complete Mandated Reporter online training, medical exam with TB test and up to date vaccination for TDAP (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) and MMR (mumps, measles and rubella) and must complete 15 hours of in-service training annually (which District will pay for) Must have satisfactory background check results Must register with Gateways Registry upon hire SCHEDULING & PAY This is a part-time and year-round position Approximately 20 hours/week, M-F, with potential for additional hours subbing or teaching Early Childhood classes.
