Special Education Teacher, OCS (Occupational Course of Study)

The special education teacher coordinates and provides direct instructional programs for students with disabilities, including the development and implementation of individual education programs (Ieps). They are responsible for monitoring student progress, maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment, and collaborating with school staff and families.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and possess or be eligible for a north carolina professional educator’s license in an exceptional children’s teaching area. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is also required to fulfill the duties of the position.
