Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):

To support the athletic training staff in all aspects of student-athlete healthcare.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in opening and closing procedures for the athletic training facility
  • Complete pre-practice or game set ups
  • Assist in student-athlete treatments and/or rehabs
  • Update student-athlete rehab sheets as needed
  • Enforce athletic training facility rules to student-athletes
  • File paperwork in the corresponding student-athlete folder
  • Clean athletic training facility and equipment
  • Assist in athletic competition coverage
  • Answer phone calls and take messages
  • Count and keep inventory of athletic training supplies

Qualifications

  • Must have and maintain CPR-First aid certification
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Physical and Environmental Factors

This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs., repetitive motions, driving, and operating equipment/machinery to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, respiratory factors, chemicals, vibrations, wet or humid conditions indoors, extreme cold, and extreme heat to perform the essential functions. Protective equipment is required for some essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
