  • Rising Star Preschool is a nonprofit serving San Diego's underserved communities.
  • Our mission goes beyond providing safe, nurturing care and quality early education for children ages 0-5, as we also connect families with vital social services, mental health support, and job training opportunities in early childhood education.
  • Now, we're hiring a full- or part-time Assistant Teacher to help make every day an amazing one for the littles!
  • You'll provide invaluable classroom support to the lead teacher and keep the kids engaged while earning $19.00/hour.
  • Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Core Responsibilities

Collaborating with the head teacher to lead infants and preschool-aged children during social, emotional, and developmental-related games and activities Maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude and following all health, safety, hygiene, and licensing guidelines Assisting the teacher during daily care activities, including mealtimes, nap routines, and diapering/toileting Cleaning the classroom, organizing toys and materials, and upholding a safe and nurturing environment

Assistant Teacher Qualifications

High school diploma (or equivalent) Ability to meet state childcare licensing requirements and complete necessary training Our ideal candidate is CPR/First Aid certified. Experience or education related to child development, early childhood education, or working with infants/preschool-aged children would be helpful!
