Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education or Specialist Education, or one of the following related fields: Psychology, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Child Development, special Education, Mental Health, Human Services, Human Development, Social and Behavioral Sciences, or Behavioral Health. Eligible for Ed Tech III certification or Department of Education 282 Endorsement for birth – 5 year olds. Minimum of 1-year experience with preschool age children or young children with special needs preferred. Experience working with families and supervising staff required. Must obtain agency provided CPR/First Aid/BBP certifications within 60 days of hire. Must obtain agency provided Safety Care certification within 30 days of hire. Must obtain agency provided BHP certification within 12 months of hire. Valid State of Maine driver license, reliable transportation with proof of registration and insurance, and willingness to use own transportation for work. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, lift at least 50 pounds or ¼ of own bodyweight, and push and pull against potential resistance. Adequate vision, reading, writing and documentation skills, and hearing to perform the essential functions of the position. Ability to maintain assigned work hours, having sufficient endurance to perform tasks over extended periods.
