- You’ll support the planning and facilitation of hands-on activities, games, and group projects that promote creativity, teamwork, and social development.
- You’ll also help manage daily routines, build positive relationships, and ensure every child feels welcomed and supported.
Key Responsibilities Support daily program routines including creative activities, homework assistance, snack, and outdoor play Assist with planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate activities based on children’s interests and developmental needs Supervise and actively participate with children during activities, games, and free play Maintain a safe, clean, and organized program environment aligned with state licensing regulations Foster independence, teamwork, and positive peer interactions using positive guidance strategies Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a welcoming, enriching afterschool environment
Qualifications
Previous experience working with children in afterschool programs, summer camps, child care, recreation, or youth development (preferred) Understanding of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset Ability to multitask, follow program structure, and adapt to children’s needs High school diploma or GED required/ ECE Degree or Equivalent preferred.
