The Learning Experience – Gaithersburg is seeking a caring and experienced Lead Infant Teacher to join our opening team. This role supports children during their earliest stages of development by creating a calm, responsive classroom environment that encourages bonding, sensory exploration, and early communication.

As part of a new center opening, this position offers the opportunity to help shape classroom culture and establish strong routines from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily routines for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months Provide attentive care including feeding, diapering, and nap supervision Create a nurturing environment that supports early development and security Plan and implement age-appropriate sensory learning activities Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Communicate regularly with families about routines and developmental progress Support assistant teachers and help establish consistent classroom structure Ensure compliance with Maryland licensing requirements and center policies

Qualifications

Infant/Toddler qualified under Maryland childcare regulations preferred High school diploma required (ECE coursework or CDA a plus) Prior infant classroom experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of responsive caregiving and infant development Reliable, collaborative, and nurturing teaching approach
