The Group Leader is responsible for planning and facilitating age-appropriate recreational and educational activities for youth in grades K-8. They must ensure a safe and structured environment while supervising field trips and collaborating with staff and parents.
Candidates must possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of work experience in a non-profit agency. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to complete all required medical and background clearances.
Ensure that age-appropriate activities are implemented for youth in K-8th grades. At all times, ensure safety, structure, and learning. Provide supervision during summer field trips. Build positive relationships with youth and adults and serve as a role model with respect to demeanor, communication, and behavior. Attend meetings with staff, parents, volunteers, and community residents as needed. Interact with parents and keep open lines of communication. QualificationsSkills / Knowledge Required: Minimum High School Diploma / GED. Minimum of two years work experience in a non-profit agency. Must be at least 18 years old. Experience working with youth. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. Ability to complete medical and DOHMH/DOE clearances and fingerprints including that an annual physical has been completed in the last year. Application and Onboarding Timeline February 1st: Summer Camp Application Opens (Rolling Admission) March 1st: Face-to-Face Interviews will begin Selected Candidates will be notified and scheduled for clearances May 20th: Last Day to submit Application (May be placed on waitlist) Mid-June: Trainings will begin for those who are cleared. June 30th: Start of Summer Camp for those who are cleared (start date to be confirmed).
