General Electives Teacher

- Instruction: ● Develop and adapt curriculum aligned to state and Common Core standards ● Design and internalize assessments and analyze student learning data to refine planning decisions ● Plan and internalize lessons to facilitate learning in a manner that students own significant cognitive lift of grade level content ● Consistently operate with the belief that with high expectations and high support, all students are capable of mastering rigorous material ● Take personal accountability for student results
Build & Maintain Strong Classroom & School Culture
● Establish high expectations through clear directions and routines, intentional relationship building, clarity, and by being a “warm demander” ● Hold students and self accountable through consistent utilization of restorative practices and a trauma-informed approach ● Collaborate with our student support team (Kairos) and families to support students through any personal, academic, and behavioral challenges
Position Qualifications
- 1) A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (Applicants are considered for all positions without regard to sex, race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other factor prohibited by law.) 2) A valid Missouri Teacher's Certificate (applicable level-area endorsements preferred) or ability to earn one 3) Ability to pass an extensive background check 4) Timely and consistent attendance throughout school hours (8am-4pm) and additional pre-scheduled staff obligations and meetings 5) A firm belief that all DeLaSalle students can achieve extraordinary results with the right supports 6) Passion for personal growth demonstrated by openness to feedback and coaching 7) Takes initiative to address challenges and brings a solutions-oriented approach 8) Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education and DLS HS 9) Organized, self-starter with the ability to adapt to support the best interest of the student 10) Ability to maintain student confidentiality
