Position Responsibilities

Committed to creating an inclusive learning environment, the Special Education Teacher provides personalized educational services to meet the diverse needs of students. Developing and monitoring Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Conducting needs assessments Collaborating with educators and specialists Strategic planning Creating instructional materials Fostering an inclusive environment Monitoring student's progress, implementing interventions, and collaborating with teams Adapting the curriculum, maintaining communication with parents, managing classroom and behavioral aspects, and ensuring compliance with regulations

Position Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

A valid Missouri Teacher's Certificate (applicable level-area endorsements preferred)

Ability to pass an extensive background check

Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education and DLS HS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong PC skills

Organized, self-starter with the ability to adapt to support the best interest of the student

Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students
