The teacher is responsible for implementing Missouri Learning standards and managing IEP goals for students in grades K-5. This includes collaborating with general education teachers and parents to provide inclusive services and necessary accommodations.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and be eligible for a Missouri Teaching Certificate. Proven teaching experience and thorough knowledge of IDEA and 504 legal guidelines are required.

Reporting The Special Education Teacher reports to their campus/building principal.
Responsible for preparing and implementing the Missouri Learning standards for IDEA students in the classroom Following the goals and objectives in the IEP for each student by maintaining communication with parents and teachers on the educational progress of students. Work with building process coordinator in delivery of services to IDEA students. Work with general education teachers in screening, evaluating, and providing inclusion under parameters of IEP. Develop accommodations/modifications to meet the unique needs of students in classroom, CWC, or inclusive setting. Perform other duties assigned by Director of Special Education. Develop annual IEP’s and three reevaluation reports for special education students. Knowledge of Transition Process/Student Goals Classroom management Communicate with peers and parents Maintain accurate grades, documentation of report cards, and attendance records Participate in all mandatory training and professional development, as required Engage in school-wide activities
Bachelor’s Degree Degree in Special Education Hold or be eligible for Missouri Teaching Certificate in Special Education or in an individual area Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines for IDEA and 504 partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures Proven experience as a teacher Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills necessary for working in a multicultural environment The ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to meet deadlines Ability to integrate technology into the classroom
