Tara Performing Arts High School is looking for a part-time math teacher to teach up to four classes per day in Algebra I, Geometry, Precalculus, and Advanced Precalculus. The person who fills this position will also provide math help for all classes during the lunch periods on Monday and Wednesday. Exact times, grade levels and classes can be discussed according to the applicant's experience and availability.
We are looking for someone who works well with high school students, enjoys teaching math to a variety of different math levels and abilities, has the capability to explain each mathematical process in more than one way, and can maintain a friendly but disciplined working classroom atmosphere. Teachers are responsible for lesson preparation and presentation, student evaluation, written reports, accommodation implementation and, when appropriate, parent communications. Classes are small (1-10 students), and our students are eager learners. They are highly motivated, respectful, kind and will be grateful to have an excellent teacher.
00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Our base hourly rate is $40.00 per hour with increases based on teaching experience and background with Waldorf/Steiner education. Teachers are also compensated for one hour of preparation for every hour of classroom teaching. Benefits are limited to four complimentary tickets to each run of our student performances.
