Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Parenting Trainer to guide parents of school-aged children (ages 3-7) through the toilet training process. The Parenting Trainer will provide parents with effective tools and strategies to help their children transition to successful toilet training. This part-time role involves working closely with parents in 2-3 hour shifts, up to two clients per day. Spanish-speaking candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Educate parents on effective toilet training techniques tailored to children ages 3-7.
- Teach parents how to develop consistent routines that encourage their child’s toilet training success.
- Provide guidance on age-appropriate methods for reinforcing toilet training, including hygiene, positive reinforcement, and patience.
- Offer strategies for overcoming common toilet training challenges specific to school-aged children.
- Work collaboratively with parents to set realistic goals and monitor the child’s progress.
- Ensure parents understand the importance of creating a supportive and encouraging environment for their child.
- Document the child’s progress and provide ongoing feedback and support to parents.
- Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with families, ensuring clear communication and regular updates.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, particularly ages 3-7, in a caregiving, parenting education, or instructional role.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, offering clear and practical advice.
- Knowledge of child development, especially around toilet training stages for school-aged children.
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills to support diverse family needs.
- Spanish-speaking is a plus.
- Must be available for shifts between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to engage actively with parents and children, including light physical activity where necessary.
