Job Description

Full-time BC/BE OB/GYN Hospitalist UHP and the Department of OB/GYN seek a full time Hospitalist to join our University Health Women’s Care (UHWC) group located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri and practicing at nearby University Health - Lakewood Medical Center. UHWC provides the expertise of academic medicine in a primarily non-teaching setting. The ideal candidate is a BC/BE Ob/Gyn physician who provides excellent obstetric and gynecologic care in the hospital. The UHWC practice includes 5 certified Nurse Midwives as well as maternal fetal medicine physicians, a female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon, and a gynecologist oncologist. The OB/GYN Hospitalist will provide full-spectrum inpatient and emergency OB & GYN care at our University Health - Lakewood Medical Center campus. Responsibilities include: Patient management Care of Antepartum & Postpartum patients. Provide coverage for GYN inpatients as well as emergency surgical care for gynecologic patients presenting through the ED. Serve as an expert clinical resource for L&D staff along with routine patient assessment and triage. Provide consultation services to Community and Family Medicine. Academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with background. The Department of OB/GYN The Department of OB/GYN consists of a strong core of specialist faculty with a dedication to evidence-based care and strong resident education. Comprehensive sub-specialist support is available from maternal-fetal medicine physicians as well as urogynecologists and gynecological oncologists. Our physicians provide back up to the midwifery practice and consultation services to the Community and Family Medicine Department. Our physicians provide instruction and supervision to Family Medicine Advance Obstetrical Fellows for Cesarean Section training.
