- Category: Education Summer Intern Sedalia, MO POSITION SUMMARY The Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with hands‑on, practical experience in their field of study while supporting organizational goals. Interns will work under the guidance of experienced professionals, gain exposure to childcare operations, and develop skills relevant to their academic and career objectives. The Support Teacher Summer Intern supports the CHS mission by assisting with the implementation of developmentally appropriate activities in the classroom that promote children’s growth and development while ensuring their health and safety. This summer internship is a temporary position and will begin in mid‑May and conclude on August 31. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in implementing a routine of developmentally appropriate activities by supporting children’s social, physical, cognitive, ATL and language development Assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate early childhood program, by consistently applying MO Childcare Licensing Standards and EHS Performance Standards Commit to the success of the program by maintaining Infant Toddler and Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, helping prepare materials and classrooms for early care and learning, maintaining ratios while providing coverage in the classroom, and supporting general childcare tasks for evening meetings and events. Follow regulatory compliance by attending meetings and trainings as required by CHS, Licensing, Sanitation, USDA CACFP and EHS requirements. Responsible for the cleanliness of the assigned area by performing general tasks such as but not limited to laundry and common area cleaning and follow guidelines in food preparation and cleaning procedures Responsible for promoting a positive Safety Culture by following established safe work practices and policies.
