Job description

Georgian Court University has an opening for Adjunct Faculty in History for the Fall 2026 semester (beginning September 1) in a dual enrollment program for high school students at a local high school in Ocean County, NJ. Teach 2 sections of World History Survey to 1500. This position is In-Person, Monday and Wednesday, from 11:00 AM to 1:50 PM. Appreciation for students enrolled in dual high school/university courses is essential.

World History Survey to 1500 (HST-120), 2 sections.

  • This is a part-time, non-tenure track position which is appointed on a per semester basis.
  • Essential Functions: Teach 3 or more credits per semester of history courses.
  • Provide reasonable office hours for students.
  • Follow course syllabi provided.
  • Complete formal course assessment report at the end of the semester.
  • Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
  • Willingness to complete Blackboard Ultra training program (online or on Lakewood campus) before classes begin.

Qualifications

● Advanced degree in History, Ph.D. preferred.

● Evidence of teaching excellence in college-level history courses.

● Strong course evaluations and/or strong recommendations from supervisors.

● Experience with course management systems, such as Blackboard.
