The Arc of Ocean County is seeking caring, energetic, and dependable Program Instructors to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities participating in adult day and vocational programs throughout Ocean County. This role focuses on helping individuals develop life skills, increase independence, participate in meaningful activities, and engage in their communities. Program Instructors play an important role in creating a positive, structured environment where individuals can learn, grow, and work toward personal goals while receiving the support they need to succeed.
Location: Lakehurst, NJ Schedule: Monday through Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Pay Rate: Starting at $20.70 per hour Bi-weekly pay schedule Overtime opportunities available Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available Essential Responsibilities Provide direct support and supervision to individuals participating in adult day and vocational programming. Assist with the implementation of daily activities designed to promote skill development, independence, communication, and community participation. Support individuals with personal care needs, daily living activities, and medication assistance when required. Encourage participation in vocational training, educational activities, and recreational opportunities. Assist individuals in achieving personal goals outlined within individualized service plans. Transport participants to community activities, volunteer opportunities, appointments, and other program-related outings using agency vehicles. Maintain a safe, supportive, and person-centered environment at all times. Complete electronic documentation, daily notes, attendance records, and other required program records accurately and in a timely manner. Work collaboratively with coworkers, supervisors, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support positive outcomes for participants. Promote dignity, respect, independence, and self-determination for all individuals served. Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED required. Valid New Jersey driver's license required, with no more than five (5) points. Must be comfortable driving a 10–12 passenger agency vehicle. Demonstrated employment stability preferred, including at least one year with a previous employer. Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is welcomed but not required. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Paid Training Provided No prior experience? No problem. Comprehensive paid training is provided to help you build the skills needed to succeed in the role.
